“Character is like a tree and reputation like its shadow. The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.” — Abraham Lincoln

Purchase Funnel, theory of propaganda, segmentation - these principles are still valid and useful. But they are increasingly inadequate for the world in which we work today. No longer are mass, one-way communications the only way to reach people – or, in many instances, the most effective. No longer do an influential few, control the world’s communications channels. And a parent organization cannot remain invisible behind its consumer brands or spokespeople.
When change is this fundamental, old frameworks is no longer sufficient. It is time for a new model.
During the workshops you will find out:
• how to introduce a new model of sustainable communication and build advocacy at scale
• how people can experience organization character and how others can advocate on its behalf
• how to avoid the risks associated with sustainability communications

Join and find out how to introduce better way of sustainability communication.

Workshop: Linking voluntary and mandatory - the added value of the human rights due diligence

Workshop during the CSR Trends III conference:

Linking voluntary and mandatory - the added value of the human rights due diligence

Time: 15 June 2025
Place: Faculty of Management (University of Łódź)
Price: Free for the conference participants. Non-participants fee for one workshop is: 15 EUR (or 60 PLN)

According to the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights, in order to meet their responsibility to respect human rights, business enterprises should have in place policies and processes appropriate to their size and circumstances, including a human rights due diligence (HRDD) process to identify, prevent, mitigate and account for how they address their impacts on human rights.

This two hour, interactive workshop will provide a brief introduction into HRDD, highlighting the differences between HRDD and the ‘usual’ due diligence process. While introduction into UNGPs and in particular its Pillar 2 will be offered, and its impact on CSR understanding in the EU and globally will be discussed, the main focus of the workshop will be formed by the case-study-based simulation of the initial stages of the HRDD, in particular Human Rights Impact Assessment (HRIA). Attention will be given as to how the HRIA, and more generally HRDD can feed into general risk assessment both as far as legal risks and non-legal, social risks are concerned, and identification of opportunities for the company. The workshop will require active involvement of the participants.
